WHAT DOES A CHEF DO?<\/h1>\n

A chef in a gourmet restaurant is responsible for organizing, planning and executing the culinary offerings in the restaurant. He leads the kitchen team, develops new dishes, ensures compliance with quality and hygiene regulations, and is responsible for the success of the restaurant. You will be responsible for leading, training and developing your kitchen team to do their jobs satisfactorily and professionally. Another important task is the development of new dishes. WHEN CAN I BECOME A CHEF? <\/strong><\/h2>\n

To become a chef in a gourmet restaurant, there are a few steps you can take. Formal training in culinary arts, such as an apprenticeship or studies at a culinary school or college, is the first step. Gaining experience in different kitchens and under different chefs, creating a well put together work portfolio, taking advanced training in areas such as nutrition, cost control, leadership and management, and networking in the industry are other important steps.
