Chef de Cuisine (gn) Alpenresort & Spa Bavaria
We are seeking a Chef de Cuisine—with a hands-on presence in the kitchen—for a 4-star Superior Alpine Resort & Spa in Bavaria. The resort is situated in the Alps and combines Alpine elegance with modern comfort. Guest expectations sometimes reach 5-star levels, so precise expectation management is an integral part of the role.
The cuisine is solid and guest-oriented: three-meal-a-day plan with à la carte options, plus a bar and room service. The hotel has a strong banquet business for up to 200 guests, including weddings. Looking ahead, there are plans to introduce a more upscale concept on select days of the week.
Your Responsibilities
- Culinary Management of the Outlets: Restaurant (three-quarter board plus à la carte), Bar, Room Service, and Banquets
- Reliable management of banquet events for up to 200 guests, including weddings and full-hotel bookings
- Optimization of menu and prep logic, stabilization of production, transition to a permanent product portfolio
- Managing and developing a kitchen team of about 14 people in a 7-day operation
- Optimal Use of Ingredients and Prevention of Food Waste
Here’s what you should bring
- Proven experience as a chef in the upscale hospitality industry, strong operational skills, and experience in banqueting
- Experience with three-quarters and half-board arrangements, as well as à la carte operations
- Ability to optimize menu structures and confidently manage banquet operations, including the bar and room service
- A pragmatic doer with a hands-on approach, not an invisible chef behind the scenes
- Calm and clarity in the tourism industry; effectively managing guest expectations ranging from 4-star to 5-star
The house offers
- Independent responsibility for kitchen operations with the opportunity to further develop the culinary concept
- An owner-managed environment focused on quality, tradition, and individual development
- Willingness to invest in the kitchen and equipment; ample banquet space for events
- Prime location in the Bavarian Alps with high, predictable occupancy rates
Frame
Start at short notice; 7-day operation throughout the season. Long walking distances inside the building require physical fitness.
We’re not looking for people who just collect titles. We’re looking for someone who wants to truly connect with the mountains and let guests experience that connection on their plates.
