Cornelia Fischer, a native of Lower Franconia, has reached a significant milestone in the world of gourmet cuisine: she has been named Chef of the Year 2024 by Schlemmer Atlas. This award underlines their outstanding achievements and their unique culinary style, which is described as modern with a Franconian connection.

Fischer, most recently deputy head chef at the renowned three-star restaurant Schloss Schauenstein, has now taken over culinary responsibility at the Romantik Hotel and Prädikatsweingut “zur Schwane” in Volkach am Main. Her impressive career includes stints in some of the best kitchens in Germany and Switzerland. She completed her training at the Romantik-Hotel Goldener Karpfen in Fulda as the best of her year at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce and gained experience in renowned restaurants such as the Tigerpalast in Frankfurt am Main and the Restaurant Überfahrt on Lake Tegernsee, both of which have been awarded Michelin stars.

The hosts of the Romantik Hotel zur Schwane, Eva and Ralph Düker, are delighted to have Fischer as their new head chef. With Fischer’s professional background and her regional roots, she is a perfect addition to the concept of the hotel and its restaurants. Their approach of presenting both high-quality regional cuisine and gourmet menus fits in perfectly with the philosophy of the hotel.

Fischer’s style, which emphasizes sustainability and the processing of whole foods, is reflected in her cuisine. She attaches great importance to using and refining all parts of food, which shows her respect for nature and culinary craftsmanship.
