Sophie Mussotter, Chef Patissière at Rauschenberger Catering in Stuttgart, has won the title of “Patissier of the Year” in an outstanding competition. This prestigious competition, which took place on November 14, 2023 at the Kameha Grand in Bonn, brought together five talented pastry chefs from Germany and Switzerland to compete against each other in a challenging live competition. Mussotter put in an impressive performance against her competitors and secured first place.

The “Patissier of the Year” competition required participants to create a dessert with five components (creamy, baked, fruity, warm and ice cream), a freestyle dessert and petit fours in four versions for the jury within five hours. This challenge put the patissiers’ creativity and skills to the test. Mussotter’s winning creations were characterized by innovative combinations, including a freestyle dessert with celery, lychee, sake and rice and an experience dessert that combined cherry blossom, dark chocolate, plum wine and buckwheat.

The evaluation was carried out by a top-class jury consisting of renowned patissiers and restaurant critics. The judges included Yann Brys (Meilleur Ouvrier de France) and René Frank from CODA Dessert Dining in Berlin. The expertise of this jury underlines the high level of the competition and the importance of the award for Mussotter.
